Farm-direct sales of local beverages in Örebro

Published January 30, 2026 / Updated April 10, 2026
Wine made from birch sap or wild raspberries? Cider made from locally picked apples? Or perhaps a top-quality beer or whiskey? Throughout Örebro County, there are local beverage producers offering tastings, tours, and farm-gate sales.

Närke Culture Brewery

One of Sweden’s oldest microbreweries, Närke Kulturbryggeri, is located in the northern part of Örebro. They produce many varieties of beer, ranging from lager to ale and porter. The brewery describes itself as both old and new at the same time. “No Slop!” is the motto during the brewing process. The brewery offers both beer tastings and brewery tours for groups of at least 10 people. You can also visit the tasting pub Halva glaset every Tuesday.

Örebro Brewery

Örebro Brygghus is a small craft brewery located on Aspholmen in Örebro. Their focus is on producing artisanal, flavorful beer—beer that they themselves enjoy. At the brewery, you can take part in brewery tours that include tastings. During a tour, you’ll learn more about the different beer styles, the brewing process, and the brewery as a whole.

Blåbergen

Want to try your hand at brewing beer? Book a beer-brewing event at Blåbergen, on the edge of Kilsbergen. Once the beer is finished brewing, you can order it to be delivered to Systembolaget in Örebro, take it home unfermented, or book an event where the beer will be served. Blåbergen can also help you brew a unique beer for your wedding or other festive occasions. If you’d rather taste the brewery’s unique beer varieties, you can, of course, opt for a beer tasting instead.

Lihnell's Distillery

The family-owned Lihnells Distillery is located in Hjälmarsberg, just east of Örebro. Here you’ll find a wide selection of whiskey and gin, as well as rum and schnapps. Visitors can book tours of the distillery in advance, which offer a behind-the-scenes look at the facility. Afterward, you can sample the spirits at the nearby farm shop.

At Lihnells Distillery, you can also become a cask owner. This gives you the chance to be part of the journey, from the first drop to the finished bottle. As a cask owner, you’ll be invited to cask owner gatherings where you can taste your unique spirit and follow its development. As the icing on the cake, you’ll also get to help design the label for your bottles.

Askersund Brewery

In the heart of Askersund, at the northern tip of Lake Vättern, you can visit Askersund Brewery. Here, they produce both light beer and various types of strong beer. You can also take a tour of the brewery, where you’ll learn about both the brewing process and the beautiful facilities. The brewery’s light beer can be enjoyed on-site or purchased to take home. The selection of strong beer is constantly changing, so there’s always something new to try.

Sävenfors Lodge & Winery

Sävenfors Lodge & Winery in Hällefors has been producing its own wine since 1999 under the name Grythyttan Vin. Over time, schnapps, vinegar, and ice cream have become an integral part of the product range. Swedish forests and mountains form the foundation of these products, as reflected in flavors such as lingonberry, wild raspberry, and birch sap. If you’re a wine lover, take the opportunity to join a guided tour of the winery, which includes a tasting. The lodge also features a food and wine café. There, the wines determine what’s on the menu, rather than the other way around.

Hjulsjö 103

Fancy a dry, crisp cider—and a trip to Hällefors? Then Hjulsjö 103 is the place for you. Here, they use wild-fermented apples to produce delicious natural cider. Hjulsjö 103 also features a bakery specializing in sourdough bread. While the bakery is open, you can take a tour of the cidery and sample both current and upcoming varieties.

Tip! Märta Westling—one of the founders of Hjulsjö 103—has written a book about the process of making their cider, detailing all the time and expertise that goes into the finished product. The book, titled *It’s Sunshine We Save*, won the 2025 Swedish Food Literature of the Year award.
