Want to play boules in Örebro? Bien sûr!

Published June 17, 2021 / Updated April 9, 2026
Boule is a game that originated in France, in which the goal is to get your ball as close as possible to the small wooden ball. (By the way, “boule” is the French word for “ball.”) It’s enjoyed by many, especially on long, lovely summer evenings.

There are several (free) boules courts around Örebro. On certain evenings during the season, for example, the Örebro Boules Club organizes games for anyone who wants to join in. You’ll find two of Örebro’s boules courts in Sveaparken and Karlslund.

Another tip is to play in the sand at one of the picnic areasin Rynningeviken. All you need is a few boules, some sand, and some friendly teammates.

All year round – and with the addition of a bar

As we all know, the year isn’t just about summer. Luckily, you can play boules indoors during the cooler months.TheÖrebro Boulesällskapboules hallis open from October through April.
