Published February 2, 2026 / Updated September 8, 2026
With its three sections, Behrn Arena is Örebro’s sports hub. It’s the home arena for the city’s top teams in hockey, bandy, soccer, and American football. So if you want to experience exciting games and hear the fans cheering so loud it feels like the roof is going to lift off—this is the place to be.

The Soccer Stadium

In the Behrn Arena area, you can visit Örebro’s main soccer stadium. Here, you can cheer on two of the city’s top teams, Örebro SK (men’s) and KIF Örebro. Örebro SK plays in the Elitserien, and KIF Örebro in the Elitettan. Behrn Arena is also home to the Örebro Black Knights, one of Sweden’s top American football teams, which competes in the Superserien.

Over the years, events both large and small have been held here, such as when KIF Örebro faced Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in 2015. The stadium has a total capacity of 13,072, comprising 8,472 seats and 4,600 standing room spots.

The Ice and Bandy Arena

In addition to the soccer stadium, you can also visit the ice rink and bandy arena located on the grounds. Here you can experience fast-paced hockey and thrilling bandy. Since 2009, this historic facility has been renovated into a modern venue for elite sports. The ice rink has a capacity of 5,500 people, and the bandy hall seats 1,700. Two of Örebro’s elite teams call this place home: Örebro Hockey and Örebro SK Bandy. Örebro Hockey plays in the SHL, and Örebro SK Bandy competes in the Bandyallsvenskan.

Fancy taking a few laps on the ice yourself? Or maybe doing a spin or two? No problem. The bandy hall is open to the public for skating during the day through March 15, 2026.

Sports Center

Just a stone's throw from the soccer stadium is the Sports Center. The new section of the facility houses two full-size indoor sports halls that can be combined into a single large arena for events, with a seating capacity of 2,300. The older section of the facility includes a full-size hall with a seating capacity of 1,700.

At Idrottshuset, for example, you can watch two of the city’s futsal clubs, Örebro SK Futsal and Örebro Futsal Club, both of which compete in the Swedish Futsal League. In addition, Örebro Volley plays its home games in the Elitserien here. So if you want to experience fast-paced derbies or heart-pounding serves, Idrottshuset is the place to go.
