More than 40 art galleries in and around Örebro

It could fill a whole book—there are so many galleries with fascinating exhibits, and every single one is well worth a visit. Instead, you’ll find a list of galleries below, along with some extra information about three of the standout gems: Galleri Nord, Galleri Örsta, and Galleri Svanen.

Gallery North

Galleri Nord is Örebro’s oldest private art gallery. Both Swedish and international artists exhibit here—and many of Sweden’s leading contemporary artists actually began their exhibition careers right here at Galleri Nord. Each year, the gallery hosts 10–12 different exhibitions featuring paintings, sculptures, prints, glass art, and more. The gallery is closed between exhibitions.

Örsta Gallery

Galleri Örsta is located in Hällabrottet, just outside Kumla. It was founded in 1992. Lilla Galleriet is housed in the farm’s wing, where approximately 25 artists create an ever-changing group exhibition. Nya Galleriet is a modern building of approximately 350 square meters. The building features a fascinating facade of reflective glass beads and exciting architecture.

Gallery Svanen

Galleri Svanen is an art gallery located right next to the well-known bird lake Tysslingen. It features exhibitions by both local and visiting artists, photographers, and artisans. The gallery is part of the Tysslingen Nature Center, which also houses a café, a rest area, and a bookstore. Lectures, breakfast events, and family days are also held regularly.
