Art for Everyone

In a vibrant city, art is always close at hand. And that’s certainly true of Örebro. As the home of both rebellious art collectives and the international OpenArt festival, Örebro is a major player on Sweden’s cultural map. Here, there is plenty of art that is free to view and accessible to everyone—regardless of name, background, or income.

OpenArt brings color to the entire downtown area

Every other summer, Örebro is filled with pop art from around the world. Exciting sculptures, innovative installations, and playful artworks pop up in parks, squares, and along the streets—often in completely unexpected places. It’s OpenArt, Scandinavia’s largest biennial for public art, taking center stage. The summer of 2026 marks the tenth time OpenArt will be held in Örebro. Don’t miss it.
