The Nobel Museum in Karlskoga

About 40 minutes from Örebro lies Karlskoga and Björkborn Manor, which was Alfred Nobel’s final home in Sweden.

It was also here that the great inventor spent his final summers. He had acquired the estate as part of the deal when he purchased AB Bofors Gullspång a few years earlier. Nearby, Nobel had a laboratory built where he conducted both gunpowder experiments and various other tests.

Today, the laboratory houses an exhibition on Nobel’s experimental work and business ventures. The manor house features exhibitions about Alfred Nobel as a person. During the summer, you can meet both him and some of his closest associates during the theatrical guided tours at the Nobel Museum.
