Ice skating in Örebro

Winter weather or not, Örebro’s ice rinks— Behrn Arena and Trängens IP —are open to the public on certain days and at certain times. And once temperatures drop well below freezing, there are often flooded ice rinks in several residential areas as well.

In central Örebro, you’ll also find the artificial skating rink at Krämartorget. It’s about 60 meters long and 3 meters wide. The rink is open for skating from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day through February 28, 2026.

If the weather and temperature permit, the lakes in the county are of course also waiting to be explored. Closest to central Örebro is the part of Lake Hjälmaren called Hemfjärden. The ice often forms earlier in the season here, while later on there may also be excellent conditions for ice skating on both Mellanfjärden and Storhjälmaren.
