Winter weather or not, Örebro’s ice rinks— Behrn Arena and Trängens IP —are open to the public on certain days and at certain times. And once temperatures drop well below freezing, there are often flooded ice rinks in several residential areas as well.
In central Örebro, you’ll also find the artificial skating rink at Krämartorget. It’s about 60 meters long and 3 meters wide. The rink is open for skating from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day through February 28, 2026.
Weather and temperature permitting, the lakes in the county are also waiting to be explored. Closest to central Örebro is the part of Lake Hjälmaren known as Hemfjärden. Here, the ice often forms earlier in the season, while later on there may also be excellent conditions for ice skating on both Mellanfjärden and Storhjälmaren. Of course, it’s a good idea to wear a helmet. And always treat the ice on lakes and other bodies of water with the utmost respect.
