Discover Örebro, the city of skateboarding

Legends like Tony Hawk and Mike McGill have made skateboarding history in Örebro, and all year round the scene keeps rolling with hangouts, competitions, and events where skate culture takes center stage.

Örebro Skatepark 

Örebro Skatepark is one of Sweden’s largest and best-designed skateparks. Located in the heart of Drottningparken, the park offers a whopping 2,500 square meters of skating space. It attracts everyone from seasoned skaters and beginners to visitors without boards who prefer to enjoy an ice cream and cheer on the action.

It’s no surprise that the park is one of Sweden’s best. After all, it was designed by none other than Janne Saario—the pro skater who now excels as a skatepark architect. In addition to Saario drawing inspiration from the surrounding architecture, Örebro’s skaters themselves were involved in the process. For example, they put together a long wish list of features they wanted to see in the park. And it’s clear that Saario listened.

In the center of the park lies a large bowl area, where you’ll find both a smaller bowl and a full-sized—and colorful—kidney bowl with two levels. Surrounding it are large street areas featuring everything from flat rails and curbs to manual pads, ledges, eurogaps, banks, and more. There are easier obstacles for those just starting out—and serious challenges for those looking to take their skating to the next level. Simply put, everything a skater could wish for.

Summer kiosk

From May through September, the clubhouse at Örebro Skatepark is open, offering a snack bar, rentals, and services. Here you can buy light meals, snacks, drinks, and ice cream. It’s perfect for a break between runs or to keep your energy up during a full day at the park. 

Want to try skateboarding but don’t have your own gear?
No problem. When the kiosk is open, you can borrow a skateboard, helmet, and protective gear here—completely free of charge.

The Board Center 

Brädcentalen is located in a beautiful old factory building—right in the heart of a historic industrial area. A 726-square-meter skatepark offering top-notch skating fun. Here you’ll find everything you need for a day on the board, with plenty of ramps and obstacles of varying difficulty levels. When it’s time for a break, a cozy café awaits with refreshments and a relaxed atmosphere. 

Örebro Skateboard offers skateboarding lessons at Brädcentralen for girls’ groups, families, adults, beginners, and experienced skaters. Beginners learn the basics, while experienced skaters develop their tricks and refine their technique. 

Frame ramp 

Örebro is home to one of Sweden’s largest outdoor ramps, Rampland. A vertical ramp with a history dating back to the 1970s. The ramp has played a significant role in the global skateboarding scene—and has been the setting for several iconic international moments. For example, legends like Tony Hawk and Mike McGill have developed several groundbreaking new tricks right here. The world’s first stalefisk grab, McTwist, and 720 were born right at Rampland.

Today, the area has been expanded to include two smaller mini-ramps, perfect for beginners, younger riders, or anyone looking to hone their skills on a smaller scale. 

Saxon Park  

Saxonparken is located in Brickebacken, about five kilometers outside the city center. Here you’ll find eight permanent ramps and a smaller asphalt street area featuring concrete features such as quarterpipes, ledges, spines, manual pads, and curbs. The park is right next to a fun playground—perfect if you’re bringing young visitors along.

VOX Skatepark 

In VOX Park, between Varberga and Oxhagen, there is a mini-skatepark where several of Örebro Skateboards’ ramps are set up year-round. The park features several smaller ramps, spacious paved areas, and a fun play ramp.

Brunnsparken Skatepark  

Pump tracks, a pool, various turns, and bumps. Brunnsparken now features a skatepark that attracts both young and old. The skate section is part of the Hjulleken activity park, which also includes a concrete park and an asphalt loop with bumps. Perfect for practicing your first kickflips.

Rosta Plaza 

Just a short skate ride from downtown lies Rosta Skatepark—or Rosta Plaza, as it’s known among die-hard skaters. It’s a colorful, well-designed park with a whole range of different challenges. In addition to ramps and pipes of varying heights and difficulty levels, you’ll find rails, a funbox, and an ollie box. Plus, it’s a treat for the eyes.

Tybble Skate Park 

Although the first concrete ramps were installed in 2012, Tybble Skatepark has been a hub for skateboarders since the 1980s. Since then, the park has continued to evolve. Today, you’ll find more ramps, boxes, and rails—plus a bike play area with pump tracks right next door. If you want to explore your artistic side, there are also open graffiti walls here. Bring your spray cans and go wild.

Kumla Skatepark  

Kumla Skatepark is an open and spacious concrete area with ramps and obstacles, designed for fun on a board. The park was developed in close collaboration with Örebro Skateboard. Here you’ll find features such as banks, quarter-pipes, a flat rail, a pyramid, and ledges. It’s perfect for practicing tricks or just having fun with friends. 

Kiosk Skate Shop 

A skate shop or a community hub for creatives? No one knows. Either way, Kiosk Skate Shop is more than just a store. Visitors come just as much to buy boards, shoes, and clothes as they do for the sense of community and their love of skateboarding. 

Kiosk organizes competitions, parties, art exhibitions, and events—often in collaboration with Örebro Skateboard—that foster a sense of community among skaters across Sweden. Some of these events are annual, such as Push, Kiosk Open, and Kiosk Secret Session. 

Örebro Skateboard

Everything in Örebro related to skateboarding—the Örebro Skateboard Association has had a hand in it. Since 1996, Örebro Skateboard has been at the heart of the city’s skate scene. With passion, drive, and boards under their feet, the association’s dedicated members have shaped both skate culture and community spaces in Örebro. In addition to helping develop nearly all of the city’s skateparks, they run the city’s courses and skateboarding activities. Both to build bridges and to encourage more people to dare to step onto a board.
