Ice cream in town
Downtown Örebro is teeming with cafés and shops that serve delicious ice cream. Here is a selection of some of the best ice cream spots in the city center:
Ice Cream & Coffee in City Park
Right next to the Svartån River in Stadsparken is the café Ice Cream & Coffee. This is the place for anyone who believes that “more is more.” The generous ice cream menus have it all—fruit, meringue, whipped cream, sprinkles, brownies, and caramel sauces that add an extra touch of flair. Open every day all summer long, rain or shine.

Thanks to Ekobutiken
Sheep's milk ice cream? Absolutely, especially if you ask anyone who's tasted the delicious ice cream from En får tacka. In Danshyttan in Bergslagen, the ice cream is made from the farm's own sheep's milk. You can find it at various locations in central Örebro, such as the Ekobutiken in Stadsträdgården.

The General Store in Wadköping
In the charming neighborhood of Wadköping , you’ll find Handelsboden, where you can buy ice cream in various shapes and flavors. The bright pink strawberry soft-serve is widely renowned and beloved, but if you prefer scooped ice cream, this is the place to go. The ice cream comes from Hjortkvarn, located in Hallsberg, making it an “almost” local specialty.

The Glass Temple in Sommarro
Next to Sommarro Värdshus is Glasstemplet —which truly lives up to its name. Inside the grand building with columns and ornate details, you’ll find a wide selection of ice creams. There’s even an ice cream for rainy days. With raindrop sprinkles, marshmallow clouds, and an umbrella, even gray days become fun.
Sörens Ice Cream Parlor
Right next to Sörbybacken is Sörens Glassbar. This is the place for anyone who wants to try every flavor—they even have a tasting menu. You pick the flavors, and then it’s time to start sampling. You can also cool off with milkshakes and ice cream desserts. Sörens also sells dog-friendly ice cream, so bring your four-legged friends along for a real ice cream treat.
Ormesta Ice Cream Parlor
Just a short bike ride from town lies Ormesta Glasskafé, run by three siblings: Agnes, Arvid, and Gustav. Among other things, they serve soft-serve ice cream—with a Danish twist! Homemade guf, imported toppings, and flødeboll are the Danish accompaniments that add flavor to the ice cream. It’s a little nod to the siblings’ father, who is from Denmark and also built the entire ice cream café.

The Ice Cream Stand in Hästhagen
How about a Delicatobomb, a banana split, or a whole bucket of ice cream? At the ice cream stand in Hästhagen, you’ll find plenty of delicious ice cream. Round out your ice cream treat with a dip at Hästhagen’s new swimming pier, or why not play a round of mini-golf?

The Happy Hen's Ice Cream in Fjugesta

These are then mixed with cream, sugar, and a little honey. Lyckliga hönans ice cream is sold at the farm stand at Berga Farm and at select locations throughout the county.
