Local and rustic at Stora Hjortstorp Farm

Stora Hjortstorp Farm is located in the northern parts of Oset and Rynningeviken, just a short bike ride from downtown Örebro. After a pleasant 20-minute bike ride along winding gravel roads, with the Svartån River meandering alongside you, you’ll arrive at the large red-and-white barn where the restaurant opened in the summer of 2022. Here you can enjoy the weekly lunch special, a seasonal à la carte menu, and brunch with small plates on weekends. Always with a focus on local ingredients and sustainability.

Stora Hjortstorp Farm is the perfect stop for anyone looking for something other than fast food on the way to their final destination. A natural gem just a stone’s throw from downtown Örebro, it’s ideal for both a relaxing midweek lunch and a Sunday outing. 

The farm is beautifully nestled amid rolling countryside and tall trees. In the summer, cows and calves graze in the pastures surrounding the farm. Even though the highway is right nearby, all you can hear is birdsong and the rustling of leaves in the wind. And, of course, the occasional clink of cutlery and china, along with the occasional “Oh, that’s delicious!” from satisfied guests.

Events and Reservations

In the coming months, you can look forward to music events and farmers’ markets featuring local producers. With sweeping views of the nature reserve and an upstairs area for larger groups, Stora Hjortstorp Farm is also the perfect venue for various events and weddings. There are also two conference rooms: a slightly larger one that seats 50 people and a smaller one for 12.
