Örebro has developed a taste for beer. Have you too? In just a few years, Örebro has blossomed into a true beer town. Restaurants and pubs offer a wide selection of local products. There’s plenty of creativity, both in terms of ingredients and names. So take the opportunity to try a local beer in Örebro, or why not go all out and try brewing your very own beer?
Närke Cultural Brewery
The oldest of Örebro’s microbreweries is Närke Kulturbryggeri. Founded in 2003, it boasts, as they put it, “roots going back to the very beginning.” Beer lovers both in Sweden and abroad can now quench their thirst with beers whose names outdo one another in creative wordplay. “Jante Lager,” “Pors och tvärs,” and the wheat beer “Ich weiss” are just a few examples. Not to mention one of the brewery’s bestsellers, “Örebro Bitter,” with the motto “you become what you drink.”
Örebro Brewery
Kulturbryggeriet’s labels are often black and light yellow. Our colleagues at Örebro Brygghus work with much more colorful designs. This wide variety is reflected in the flavors. Classics like IPAs and lagers are interspersed with fruity creations. For example, “Lime Sour Beer” and the brewery’s own versions of the typical Berlin-style flavored wheat beer, Berliner Weisse.
Both breweries welcome groups for beer tastings and brewery tours.
Rainbow Warrior from Närke Kulturbrygger is definitely the best! Pors & Tvärs is fantastic too!

Blåbergen
Are you tired of just tasting other people’s beers? Would you like to try brewing your own? Blåbergens Bryggeri, located outside Närkes Kil, has its very own brewery. Under the guidance of brewer Robert Sundström, you can create your very own, unique beer.

More local beer from the Örebro region
If you’re looking for beer from the Örebro region, there are plenty of options to choose from. In the small town of Nora, you’ll find Nora Brygghus. The former Norabryggeriet Apex has moved to Örebro. And in Pålsboda, there’s ÄKTA ÖL, where the capital letters stand for Honest, Controlled, Traditional, and Alternative.
Yes, as you can see, there’s a wide selection, and of course the best way to enjoy it is right here in Örebro. Welcome to the city of beer!
