
The Katrinelund Hike: Örebro–Katrinelund (28 km)
The first part of the Katrinelund Trail follows the shores of Hemfjärden, but at Hjälmarbaden, the new trail begins. It takes you along beautiful roads, past pastures and stately farms, to Katrinelund and all the culinary delights at the inn and the lakeside restaurant.
The Wine Trail: Katrinelund–Hampetorp (17 km)
The Vinö Trail starts in Katrinelund. If you’re cycling from Örebro, follow the Hemfjärden route around to the Äsö Bridge at Hjälmarbaden, then continue on the Katrinelund Trail to Katrinelund. From there, follow the Vinö Trail to the Hampetorp ferry terminal, where you can take the ferry to Vinön, the jewel of Lake Hjälmaren! The island features a hiking trail and pleasant bike paths, a swimming area with a kiosk, a restaurant, and a café, as well as several small farm shops. Opening hours vary throughout the year, so be sure to check Vinön’s website or the businesses’ own websites before you set off.
Brevensleden Trail: Lännäs–Brevens Bruk (18 km)
The Brevens Trail begins in Lännäs. From Örebro, you’ll cycle around Hemfjärden, along the Katrinelund Trail, and through the first section of the Vinö Trail. The tour ends in idyllic Brevens Bruk, a unique industrial community where nearly all the buildings are covered in yellow stucco.
The Kvismaren Trail: Örebro–Kvismaren (15 km)
The Kvismaren Trail is a pleasant hike through one of Örebro’s premier nature areas, the Kvismaren Nature Reserve. The trail follows low-traffic roads past Almby, through Mark, and on to Stortorp. It ends at the Kvismare Canal, the Kvismaren Nature Reserve, and Öby Hill. Kvismaren is one of the country’s premier bird-watching lakes, while Öby Hill is known for the snakes basking in the spring sun. At the end of the trail is Sörby Manor, which offers lodging in a rural setting.
