The City Loop with stops in nature
The City Loop is 10 kilometers long and takes you through the heart of Örebro, from the castle and the bustling city center to cobblestone neighborhoods and scenic rest stops. Wadköping’s cafés and restaurants offer local delicacies, while Naturens Hus, with its peaceful setting, makes the dining experience truly special.
If you’d like to continue a bit further, cycle on past Oset and the vast wetlands of Rynningeviken to Myrö, at the far end of the nature reserve. Stop here for a lunch with a local touch at the rural Stora Hjortstorp Farm.

The Water Trail and Coffee Break at Naturens hus
An easy cycling loop for the whole family. You’ll head from Örebro Castle along the Svartån River to the lovely gravel walking and biking paths in the popular nature reserves of Oset and Rynningeviken on the western shore of Lake Hjälmaren. On this route, you’ll avoid cars almost entirely, but you may need to watch out for plenty of birds, cows, and Örebro residents out for a stroll.

The Lindbacka Loop with a stop at the mill
The Lindbacka Loop is 17 kilometers long and follows the winding Svartån River through the beautiful manor house setting of Karlslund. The trail turns around at the old Lindbacka mill. Here you’ll find a deli, a vintage and antique shop, hand-roasted specialty coffee, and a place to enjoy a coffee break. Top off your trip with a coffee break and perhaps a dip at one of the outdoor swimming spots: Karlslund’s brick bath or Hästhagen’s pier bath.

The Slätten Loop and Lunch in the Park
The Slätten Loop is 47 kilometers long and initially follows the same route as the Lindbacka Loop. It then continues out onto the Närke Plain and skirts the Kilsbergen hills. The loop passes two cozy eateries—Tant Grön and Lanna Bokcafé —so plan to stop for coffee at one and lunch at the other, and you’ll have plenty of energy for a full day of cycling.

The Wild Strawberry Trail with Swimming and Coffee Break
The Smultronslingan is 48 kilometers long and perfect for those who enjoy cycling along rolling fields and through charming villages. At the start of the bike ride, you’ll also pass Svampen, where you can enjoy a coffee break 58 meters above the ground. The Smultronslingan then continues north into the countryside and passes the Långensjöarna lakes, where Solliden is located and offers, among other things, a summer café and a hotel/hostel. Where the route turns south, you’ll find the cozy café Smultrongården.

A stroll around the lake and ice cream at Solliden’s summer café
North of Örebro lies Lake Lången, which features a great swimming spot and several beautiful cultural sites. The bike loop around the lake is a pleasant ride of just over 30 kilometers with an elevation gain of 90 meters. Along the way, you’ll pass the beautiful Kåviängen and Axberg Church—and if you’re in the mood for a swim, Kårstaö is just a short detour away!
Along the bike path you’ll also find Solliden, the Swedish Church’s retreat center, beautifully situated next to the lake. Here you can enjoy simple, homemade, organic dishes and locally produced ice cream from En får tacka and Lyckliga hönan.

The Dyltas Loop
The trail takes you north through Örebro and out into the countryside around Axberg and Ölmbrotorp, mostly on paved roads with little traffic. At the turnaround point, you’ll find the cozy café Smultrongården. The Dyltaslingan trail is not marked.

A stroll around the area and coffee at the manor house
The lake at the foot of Kilsbergen is also known as Svansjön. Thousands of birds, including swans, stop here to rest every year during the first few weeks of spring. In the summer, you can enjoy the bike loop around Tysslingen. It starts at Karlslund Manor and takes you 32 flat kilometers out onto the Närke Plain and back. When you want to recharge, you can grab a snack at Karlslund Manor or at Café Svanen right next to Tysslingen.

The Katrinelund Tour and a Luxury Lunch at Sjökrogen
If you enjoy cycling on gravel roads, this is the ride for you. It’s 28 kilometers long and runs from Örebro Castle to Katrinelunds Gästgiveri and Sjökrog outside Stora Mellösa. The Katrinelund Trail takes you along the southern shores of Hemfjärden and Mellanfjärden, ending at beautiful Katrinelund. Treat yourself to a long, luxurious lunch at Sjökrogen. Perhaps some Hjälmaregös from the lake will taste especially good after nearly 30 kilometers on the bike? Be sure to book a table in advance.

A walk around Hemfjärden with a shrimp sandwich for lunch
The Hemfjärden Loop is a popular cycling route that takes you on a 40-kilometer journey around Hemfjärden, the smallest part of Lake Hjälmaren. The trail is marked with signs featuring a dark blue background and white lettering. Along the route, there are great spots for swimming, both at Norra Ässundet and Hjälmarebaden, as well as several nature reserves perfect for relaxing breaks.
At Norra Ässundet, there’s a summer café serving a favorite among many Örebro residents—the famous shrimp sandwich. To continue your tour around Hemfjärden from here, take the M/S Åbäket bike ferry across the strait, which operates during the summer.

The Kilsberg Loop and Lunch by the Blue Mountains
Leave the city along an easy-to-walk railway embankment and experience the stunning natural scenery at the foot of Kilsbergen. Along the way, you’ll pass Karlslund Manor, Lindbacka Mill, Vintrosa, and the spectacularly straight railway embankment of the Svartå Line.
