Take the throne at the Stora Holmen playground
Stora Holmen is synonymous with great playground fun. There’s something exciting here for every child, including a petting zoo where the sheep are eager to charm visitors. The playground features (of course) swings, but also other attractions, such as a carousel, a miniature train, and the impressive Game of Thrones-style throne on Bäverkullen.

Gustavsvik has long been known for its water park. And if your family loves to swim, then the water park is the obvious stop. But Gustavsvik is also teeming with fun activities on land. For more excitement and thrills, the brand-new pump track is a fun addition you won’t want to miss.
PLEASE NOTE! Lost City, the fitness pool, and the relaxation area will be closed for renovations from September 1 through early 2027. The campground, cabins, and gym will remain open as usual.

A place for socializing and barbecuing – check. Fun and unique playgrounds – check. Areas for ball games and play – check. VOX Park, located between the Varberga and Oxhagen neighborhoods just outside town, checks all the boxes for what an outdoor family center should offer. As if that weren’t enough, there’s both a spectacular Tarzan jungle and a mysterious fairy-tale trail.

Skate at one of Sweden's coolest parks
Here’s the skatepark that has it all! Örebro Skatepark opened in 2015, designed by former pro skateboarder and architect Janne Saario. No worries—you can rent one here.

Book mini-golf as an activity
Gather your focus and visit one of Örebro’s creative and unique mini-golf courses. At Gustavsvik Camping, you’ll find the bold, locally inspired adventure golf course, where the holes are miniature versions of some of the city’s most famous landmarks. And at Svampen, the Örebro Miniature Golf Club is home to its twin 18-hole courses: a tricky adventure course and a more traditional, classic course. Can you pull off the feat of making a hole-in-one—or as they say in the world of miniature golf: hit a nail?

Discover the blend of past and present in Wadköping
Wadköping isn’t just a beautiful place with historic buildings. It seems to be full of charming little alleys that are bursting with playfulness everywhere you look. Lekladan is perhaps the best example. Here, summer offers a journey back in time where children can experience life as it was in the past. Churning butter, felting wool, grinding coffee, washing clothes with a washboard, and playing marbles the old-fashioned way are just a few of the exciting activities at Lekladan. Don’t forget to check the calendar—maybe you’ll catch one of this summer’s outdoor performances?

Create dinner memories at a castle café, a burger joint, or on a pizza tour

Are you in the mood for an early dinner in a grand castle setting? Then Lill-Anna’s castle café is the place to go. In addition to delicious coffee and pastries, there are also heartier options like pies and salads. And a (harmless) torture chamber to serve as a cozy dining nook!

Pizza perfection doesn't get much better than going on a full-fledged pizza tour. That's right, you heard correctly. Start with the appetizer pizza topped with roe at Sorella, which is open in the summer; try one of Paolo's pan-fried pizzas for the main course; and top off the tour with a dessert pizza featuring strawberries and Nutella at Fratelli.
