10 Toddler-Friendly Tips in Örebro

Planning a family vacation in Örebro? We’ve got some great tips for you! Play, have fun, and explore Örebro’s classic attractions—all tailored for the youngest members of the family.

1. A journey through time for children in Örebro’s old neighborhoods 

Wadköping isn’t just a trip back in time—it’s also a fun place for outdoor play. Here you’ll findthe Play Barn, wherechildren can play freely in an old-fashioned setting. They can work in the general store, take care of stuffed animals, or set the table for a party in the playhouse. At the Cajsa Warg Museum, you can smell secret spices, and if you start to run out of energy, Wadköping is also the perfect spot for an ice cream break.

2. Play and splash around at the playground in Stadsparken

Right next to Wadköping is Stadsparken, which features a large, newly built playground. Here you’ll find a spray park (water playground) with various fountains and showers, as well as a large climbing frame and small playhouses known as “Little Wadköping.” And of course, plenty of space for a picnic blanket! Right next door is also the café Ice Cream & Coffee, which is open every day during the summer.

3. Swimming and Fun at Gustavsvik

Lost City is a jungle water adventure featuring anacondas and hurricanes that will give the whole family a thrill—we promise! The water park at Gustavsvik features several major rides, fun treasure hunts, and challenging missions suitable for all ages. Adventure-style mini-golf, treasure hunts, and a summer stage—did you know that besides swimming and fun, there are tons of other things to do at Gustavsvik Campground?

4. Experimental Workshop at Tekniska Kvarnen

Near the beautiful Karlslund manor house lies Tekniska kvarnen, an experimental center for children who want to experiment and learn more about electricity. The museum is housed in an old mill and is surrounded by large green spaces. It’s the perfect outing for all kids who can’t sit still!

5. Green Örebro for Children

Once you arrive at Karlslund Manor and its gardens, let the kids explorethe Children’s Garden. Here, everyone can run around and play hide-and-seek in long tunnels or go on an adventure in the long hedge maze.

6. Take the short walking loop around Lake Ånnaboda

Here, even the youngest adventurers can join in and explore Skogsmulle’s stroller-friendly walking trail, which is filled with fun questions and tips about nature along the way. The trail runs right alongside the water, and when you’re done, you can settle in for a barbecue or a dip in the lake.

7. Adventure in Varbergaskogen

Varbergaskogen lies like a green heart between the residential areas of Varberga, Oxhagen, Björkhaga, and Mellringe. In and around the forest, there are several exciting play areas. Play your way from spot to spot and enjoy a lovely forest walk along the way. The Fairy Tale Trail, the Tarzan Jungle, and Myran’s Playground are just a few of the adventurous activities you can discover together. While in the forest, don’t miss out on searching for painted stones, wooden sculptures, and other fun finds.

8. Trains and carousels at Stora Holmen

Stora Holmen, located across from Wadköping on the other side of the Svartån River, is a playground paradise for little ones. In the summer, there’s the Lilleputt train and other fun attractions, such as mini-carousels and a small petting zoo.

9. Leo's Playland

Run, climb, jump, play, and have fun... At Leo's Playland, there are spider towers that test your agility, waterfalls that give you butterflies in your stomach, and even a volcano that requires climbing skills. Leo's is a popular playland among kids of all ages who love to be active. For the very youngest, there’s “Mini World,” a miniature play jungle. Just as fun as the big jungle, but tailored for little adventurers.
