1. A royal selfie at the palace
A selfie with the castle in the background is a must in Örebro. There are several options for getting the best shot. The wooden deck on Storgatan is a classic spot; here, our magnificent castle makes for a beautiful backdrop in your selfie. At the intersection of Olaigatan and Kanslibron, you can capture the castle from a different—but equally beautiful—angle.

2. The Mushroom – With a View or a Vantage Point
From above or below? Depending on which angle works best for you, there are several ways to take your "Mushroom" selfie. From the balcony at the top of the "Mushroom," you get an amazing view of the city, but you can also get a really cool photo if you stand underneath the "Mushroom" and take your picture looking up.

3. The statues in City Park
In spring, summer, and fall, the lush and blooming City Park is full of great spots for stylish selfies. Capture yourself with one of the park’s statues—perhaps next to “The Silver Surfer” and “Teddy Bear Armchair,” located by the pier across from Stora Holmen.

4. The giant popcorn
Three giant popcorn kernels top the list of selfie spots in Örebro. Yes, we’re serious! These climbable popcorn kernels, created by Anton Hjärtmyr, adorned the Pink Street during the 2015 OpenArt festival. There, they became the most photographed object of all and therefore have a well-deserved spot on our list. They pop up, literally, in various areas that are currently undergoing change.

5. The castle’s battlements and towers
This castle-like building, popularly known as Borgen, was once the home of the author Hjalmar Bergman. For many years, it served as the headquarters of the Nerikes Allehanda newspaper, and today it is Home Hotel Borgen and a popular spot for selfies in Örebro. Tip: Stand on Södra Strandgatan for the best view.

6. A throwback selfie
The overcrowding in Wadköping’s houses when they stood in their original locations was extreme. In 1822, for example, 64 people lived in Tenngjutargården—the building that is now the Gamla Örebro restaurant. That works out to just under 4 square meters of living space per person. So, in such an intimate setting, perhaps a group selfie would be a good fit?
