Sausage production and sales

The Sibylla Sausage is a classic that has been satisfying appetites for nearly a century. It is also a sausage that originated in Kumla, just over 20 minutes from downtown Örebro. In 1907, Oskar Lithell began making sausages in a basement in Kumla. Twenty-five years later, his son Daniel launched the Sibylla Sausage. In 1956, Lithells moved its production 15 minutes east to Sköllersta. Sweden’s largest sausage factory still stands there today—and also features a factory store where you can shop for brands like Sibylla, Lönneberga, and Ridderheims.

Lithells is the largest sausage manufacturer in Örebro County, but not the only one. Robertsons Charkuteri was founded in 1929 and today produces exclusive sausages and delicacies—always using Swedish meat. Twenty kilometers east of Askersund lies Närkesberg, where sausage production is also underway. Vilda Korven, a local company, both hunts and makes its own sausages. Beer sausages, grilled sausages, and wurst—all made from wild boar.

Lilla Väsby Farm is a fourth sausage producer in the county.
