1. Set sail

Adventurous, peaceful, and perfect for lovely summer days! Isn’t there something special about being by the water? Rent a canoe and glide along the easy-to-paddle Svartån River, take a tour boat on Lake Storhjälmaren, or set out on a SUP adventure. For those who want to head out onto the open water, there’s plenty to choose from around Örebro.

2. Take a day trip

Just outside Örebro, there are plenty of wonderful sights, perfect for exploring on a day trip from the city. In the northern part of the county, you’ll find destinations steeped in history. Take a vintage train ride from Sweden’s oldest train station, visit the Siggebohyttan mining farm, or simply stroll through the picture-perfect wooden town of Nora. If you turn your gaze south, there are several nature-filled experiences to discover. Hike around the lakes in the Dovrasjö Valley, enjoy the view from Skåle Klint, or explore the enchanting forest in Tiveden National Park.

4. Encourage a desire to play

A summer in Örebro is never boring. Pet the animals at Stora Holmen, visit one of the city’s many playgrounds, or challenge the family to a game of mini-golf. On days when the kids have extra energy to burn, we recommend a visit to Lustiga Landet. Here you’ll find obstacle courses, mazes, a pentathlon, and other fun play stations for children of all ages.

Downhill biking in Kumla or horseback riding at Ramshyttan Horse Farm are other great options for those who love to get their heart racing.
